Ecological sustainability is not an empty marketing phrase, it has been part of the Naturtex DNA since 1989! The name “Natur”-tex encompasses the careful attention to nature, and the use of natural, renewable resources as much as possible!

Energy Independence

From 2023 the company group’s entire energy supply is powered 100% by renewable, solar energy only. With Naturtex own solar parks our energy independence will become also our partner’s benefit.

Water management

Feathers and down are washed and disinfected using unique thermal water technology at the Vajhát plant. The company operates its own water purification system. Contaminated water is subjected to special tests that meet European requirements. The use of warm, crystal-clear thermal water at 32°C guarantees the maximum purity of the filling. At the end of the production process, the water used in the technology is returned to nature in drinking water quality.

Thermal oil drying system

Naturtex uses a special thermal oil drying process. Compared to the usual drying process, the thermal oil system operates at a temperature of 135°C, 30°C higher. Thanks to this, feathers and down are extremely sterile and clean, as 99% of the germs in them are destroyed during drying. The shorter drying process also makes the feather and the flake more flexible, and the lifespan of the products increases.

100% Down Recycling

The management of textile waste is one of the big challenges for all developed countries. In Europe alone, it is estimated that the amount of annual textile waste is 7,500,000 tons. Down and feather filled products are only a fraction of this, but still amount to a significant quantity. Re:Down by Naturtex collects old products before they and up in landfill, and repurposes the down and feathers contained in them.

Reduce the use of plastic

Naturtex Ltd. is constantly producing the best-quality products since its establishment in 1989 and one of the guiding principles of its activities is sustainability. We are among the first in Europe to introduce the packaging mainly made of paper. (This can reduce the use of plastic by 80%-85% compared to most common + nylon bags made of 100% polyester.)

Our sustainability aims

  • From 2025, our production will be made from 100% renewable energy sources.
  • From 2024, replacing commercial transport vehicles with electric ones.
